On October 2nd, BC Communities in Bloom (BC CiB) was pleased to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the provincial organization with a special event in Kelowna. Current board members along with former directors and judges gathered to celebrate all of this year’s community participants.
Congratulations to Hope, Chase, Kelowna and Harrison Hot Springs who were in the evaluated Bloom & Grow programs and to 100 Mile House, Castlegar, Qualicum Beach and Sicamous who were in the non-evaluated Friends program this year. Receiving sponsored criteria recognition awards were Harrison Hot Springs for Plant and Floral Displays (Teck) and Kelowna for Community Appearance (Urban Systems).
A special golden garden gnome trophy ‘Buddy’ was awarded to Chase for Outstanding Community Involvement.
Thanks to Specimen Trees Wholesale Nurseries, anniversary trees were presented to many of our municipal participants to commemorate our special year.
