Communities in Bloom is a complex, multi-faceted program, and each new year is an opportunity to share why communities should consider participating. From the obvious horticultural beautification, to the civic pride that results from a hometown that looks clean and tidy, the benefits are countless!
The CiB program connects people to their municipality, creating an opportunity for volunteer engagement in addition to profile for groups already making a difference (like the one pictured). Using the evaluated program to highlight all that is unique in the community and developing a benchmark measurement for areas of improvement, helps the community measure their successes. The Growing Together newsletter celebrates people, plants and pride! Communities in Bloom is an annual recognition and bloom award program for municipalities of all sizes. Since 1995 over 100 British Columbia communities have participated, enhancing their tidiness and green spaces through an evaluated set of criteria.
