BC Communities in Bloom Registration Packages are Ready Now
It seems strange to be thinking about the new year and the spring when the fall leaves are still on the trees. But if you have ever thought of the Communities in Bloom program as something you would like to 'grow' in your community, now is the time! There are a number of ways to get started and the provincial program has a number of enthusiastic people who are willing to help.
The most difficult part of getting an 'in Bloom' group going is to get everyone educated on the criteria and how the program is more than just a flower contest. Here are some comments from our participants:
“The judging criteria make us take a view of our whole community and measure the inputs from both citizens and the City.”
“CIB has been both a catalyst to get change happening with regard to community beautification and a valuable yardstick to measure our continuing improvements”
